Glimpses of Pondicherry, a collaborated work of P.Raja and Rita Nath Keshari, is the first of its kind, for it presents to its readers the multi-faceted personality of Pondicherry in an interesting way, unlike the conventional one which makes history a boring subject.

The books contains 195 articles in 11 episodes: Saints and shrines, Personalities, History, French settlements in India, Welfare, Places, Health and Education, culture, Lifestyle, Monuments and Memorials, and Trade and Commerce. Each episode is a ‘glimpse of an aspect of Pondicherry and its purpose as the writers state in their ‘A word with our Readers’ is “to present a portable and easy to read book which the curious traveller, seeking something more than tourist brochures, would like to browse through.”

…And the most applaudable characteristic of the book is that it is not a king-to-king history book, rather, it is about people, about culture, places and all that is related to Pondicherry.
